Description
Okuma Salina Saltwater Spinning Reels
PERFORMANCE BY LIGHTWEIGHT
Specifically designed for saltwater use, the Salina spinning reels feature Okuma’s rigid LITECAST construction design, Dual Force Drag System for extreme stopping power and our proprietary High Density Gearing with a special corrosion resistant coating. Combine this with a high-speed gear ratio and a customized aluminum handle and you have one of the best saltwater fishing reels on the market.
TECHNOLOGY

LITECAST® CONSTRUCTION DESIGN
Okuma’s LITECAST® construction design is 15% lighter than former Azores reels while maintaining maximum strength and durability. Okuma’s LITECAST® construction design makes the Salina reel 15% lighter than previous Cedros and Azores models, while still maintaining exceptional strength, durability, and rigidity. This lightweight yet powerful design helps reduce angler fatigue during long fishing sessions while delivering the toughness needed to handle demanding saltwater conditions.
The LITECAST® frame and rotor are carefully designed to maintain structural integrity under heavy loads, providing smooth and reliable performance even when targeting large offshore species such as tuna, kingfish, and GT. The reinforced body construction also improves gear alignment and internal component stability, resulting in smoother operation and increased longevity.

HIGH PERFORMANCE BEARING (HPB)
6 high performance ball bearings provide the Salina reels with outstanding smoothness and reliability in saltwater fishing environments. The balls used on the HPB’s are constructed from the same high-grade stainless-steel material as the bearing housing. HPB bearings are engineered to provide smoother rotation and improved durability compared to standard bearings. The advanced construction helps minimize friction during operation, resulting in effortless retrieves, smoother drag performance, and increased cranking power when battling powerful fish.
By combining durability, corrosion resistance, and ultra-smooth performance, the HPB system ensures that the Okuma Salina reel maintains peak performance and reliability in demanding saltwater fishing conditions. 🎣

CARBONITE HIGH OUTPUT DUAL FORCE DRAG (DFD) SYSTEM
DFD incorporates both surfaces of the spool to maximize high-end drag pressure, efficiency and overall smoothness. Mounted in the top of the spool and protected by the Hydro Block system is a multi-disc carbon drag system that works in conjunction with a secondary drag system that is mounted under the spool. Even pressure is applied to both surfaces of the spool for maximum stability and significantly Increased drag output compared to traditional single drag systems.
GEARING STABILIZATION DESIGN
Ultimate pinion stability for prefect main gear adjustment: super smooth gearing feeling and high durability.
The Gearing Stabilization Design (GSD) in the Okuma Salina Saltwater Spinning Reel is engineered to deliver maximum gear alignment, stability, and smooth performance under heavy fishing loads. This advanced design provides ultimate pinion gear support, ensuring precise adjustment and perfect alignment with the main gear during operation.
By stabilizing the pinion gear, the system minimizes unwanted movement and internal stress, resulting in exceptionally smooth gear rotation and improved cranking efficiency. Anglers will experience a consistent and effortless retrieve, even when fighting powerful saltwater species.
