Shimano Ocea 8 300M Braided Line

The Shimano Ocea 8 300M Braided Line is a premium-grade 8-strand PE braid designed for serious saltwater anglers targeting powerful game fish. Engineered in Japan, this high-performance line is built to complement flagship setups like Stella SW and Ocea Jigger reels. Using Shimano’s exclusive Tough Cross braiding technology, the fibers are woven at a 45° angle under tension to create a tighter, more stable structure. This results in higher strength, improved abrasion resistance, and smoother handling compared to conventional braided lines.

The addition of Heat Sink coating helps dissipate heat generated during long fights and heavy drag pressure, protecting the line and improving durability. Combined with advanced IZANAS fiber construction, the line resists flattening and maintains consistent performance under load. With its multi-colour design (color change every 10m), anglers can easily track depth—making it ideal for jigging, popping, and offshore fishing.

The pull strength of the Shimano Ocea 8 300M Braided Line is improved up to 25 per cent greater than the previous EX8 for the same diameter. Ocea 8 utilises Shimano’s exclusive Tough Cross braiding method. What makes it stand out from the rest is that the line is woven at 45 degrees under tension to create a tighter fibre structure, making it more stable, easier to manage and possesses increased abrasion resistance. Shimano Heat Sink coating has been developed and applied to the line to reduce concentration of heat from guide and drag pressure on the line. The Izanas fibre has a new and improved fibre lay technology exclusive to Shimano, which prevents flattening of the line that could lead to premature breakage. As a result the pull strength and abrasion resistance is vastly improved.
