Shimano 2021 Twinpower SW Spinning Reels

The X-PROTECT structure was installed in the stopper bearing of the previous model and greatly contributed to the realization of high waterproof performance. In addition to the stopper bearing section, the new TWINPOWER SW is equipped with the X-PROTECT structure in the line roller section, further improving its waterproof performance. As with the stopper bearing section, the sealing material physically blocks the seawater intrusion route, evolving a structure that can withstand high water pressure. The bearing inside the line roller is protected from the harsh environment, and the durability of the bearing is 10 times higher* than that of the conventional product.

By using an aluminum alloy and verifying the thickness arrangement in detail through repeated 3D analysis, we have achieved tougher rigidity, durability, and excellent rotation balance than ever before. This high rigidity also contributes to improved functionality of the drag and other parts.

Models from No. 4000 to No. 8000 are equipped with handle knobs made of CI4+, a lightweight carbon material with excellent rigidity and durability. The new design also realizes a further weight reduction, and at the same time, a special coating is applied to prevent slippage, further improving the smoothness of the winding process. It provides an excellent feeling of use. (Lightweight hollow oval round handle knobs are standard on the 10,000 to 14,000 models.)
